Yo’ Care South Sudan continues to make steady progress through the MOMENTUM Integrated Health Resilience (MIHR) Project, improving access to essential healthcare services for women, children, and families in Rumbek Centre County, Lakes State. Implemented in partnership with IMA World Health and funded by the United States Government through the U.S. Department of State, the project is strengthening primary healthcare by investing in health facilities, frontline health workers, community outreach, and local health systems.
Since implementation began in April 2026, the project has supported four health facilities serving an estimated population of 322,599 people across Jiir, Matangai, and Amongpiny Payams. Fifty-two frontline health workers, including Boma Health Workers and supervisors, have been recruited, trained, and deployed to expand community-based health services and improve the quality of care.
The project has already recorded encouraging results. Health facilities supported by MIHR have provided 1,469 first antenatal care visits, assisted 714 skilled deliveries, recorded 721 live births, conducted 1,928 outpatient consultations for children under five, screened 14,798 children for acute malnutrition, and immunized 1,196 children against preventable diseases. These achievements reflect growing community trust in health services and the commitment of healthcare workers serving some of South Sudan’s most vulnerable communities.
In the coming months, Yo’ Care South Sudan will continue strengthening health facilities, expanding integrated outreach services, supporting frontline healthcare workers, improving referral systems, promoting maternal and child health, and enhancing disease surveillance across Rumbek Centre County. Working closely with government and community partners, the project remains committed to building stronger and more resilient health systems that bring quality healthcare closer to the people who need it most.
