FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.
Juba, South Sudan, September 6, 2024.
IntraHealth International’s CEO, Kate Stratten, recently concluded a visit to Yo’ Care South Sudan in Juba on September 6, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s nine-year partnership. During the visit, CEO, Kate Stratten expressed gratitude for the fruitful collaboration and highlighted the positive impact of IntraHealth’s support on tens of thousands of key populations across South Sudan.
During the visit, Kate Stratten and her delegation met with project staff, the management, and members of Yo’ Care’s Board of Trustees to discuss the impact of the USAID/AHEC Activity impact on the community. The project, which began in February 2021, has carried 16,877 HIV tests, enrolled 834 clients in care and treatment, suppressed the viral load of 709 clients, provided FP services to 73 women of reproductive age, and distributed 6,078,415 million condoms in Juba, Bor, Rumbek, and Wau.
IntraHealth has been a steadfast partner to Yo’ Care, providing crucial funding, technical assistance, and capacity-building initiatives. This support has been instrumental in enabling Yo’ Care to deliver essential healthcare services to communities in need. As the Advancing HIV & AIDS Epidemic Control (AHEC) project, a key component of the partnership, draws to a close, both organizations are reflecting on the project’s achievements and the lasting impact it has had on the healthcare landscape in South Sudan.
Dr. Yohanis Riek, President of Yo’ Care South Sudan, expressed deep appreciation for IntraHealth’s long-standing commitment to Yo’ Care, reiterating that IntraHealth support has been instrumental in strengthening our programs, expanding our reach to underserved communities, and enhancing the quality of healthcare services we offer to our patients.
As IntraHealth International and Yo’ Care South Sudan continue to work together, they are committed to exploring new opportunities for collaboration and building on the strong foundation established over the past nine years. The organizations remain dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes and ensuring that all South Sudanese have access to quality care.
