The County Health Department, in collaboration with Yo’Care South Sudan, conducted a joint supportive supervision visit to one of the Integrated Medical Outreach sites operated by the Yo’Care mobile medical team in Duk County, Jonglei State.

The outreach site is supported under the NEAR Change Fund Emergency Project, funded by NEAR Network, with Amalna as the grantee and Yo’Care South Sudan as the implementing partner. The project is helping to improve access to essential health and nutrition services for vulnerable communities, especially in areas where access to fixed health facilities remains limited.

The supervision visit was led by the CHD Director, Mr. Simon Arak, together with the Health Project Officer, Mr. Jacob Garang Awuoldit. During the visit, the team interacted directly with patients and frontline health workers providing services at the outreach site.

The purpose of the visit was to assess the quality of service delivery, review adherence to clinical standards, and understand the level of client satisfaction among community members receiving care. The supervision team also reviewed how integrated primary healthcare services were being delivered by the mobile medical team.

During the visit, the team observed a strong level of commitment, teamwork, and professionalism among the outreach staff. The services provided at the site included outpatient consultations, immunization, and nutritional assessment. These services are important for communities facing long distances to health facilities, transport challenges, and limited access to regular health services.

Many beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the support provided through the outreach intervention. They noted that the presence of the mobile medical team has improved access to essential healthcare at the community level and reduced the need to travel long distances in search of treatment.

The County Health Department also appreciated the support of NEAR Network, Amalna, and Yo’Care South Sudan for helping to strengthen access to healthcare services in Duk County. The CHD emphasized the importance of continued coordination between local health authorities, implementing partners, donors, and community structures.

Yo’Care’s mobile outreach model continues to support improved service utilization, strengthen community trust, and bring healthcare closer to people who need it most. By reaching underserved communities directly, the outreach approach helps reduce both geographical and financial barriers to care. Through continued collaboration with the County Health Department and partners, Yo’Care South Sudan remains committed to supporting quality, accessible, and people-centered health and nutrition services for vulnerable communities in Duk County and beyond.
