On 18 May 2026, the Mother Support Group successfully conducted its first sitting of the month, with active participation from the first group members.

During the meeting, members shared their experiences, discussed their roles and community impact, and identified key challenges affecting their activities. They also proposed possible mitigation measures to strengthen their work and improve peer-to-peer community health education.

The group selected three priority health education topics for upcoming community awareness sessions. These include exclusive breastfeeding, the importance of good nutrition during pregnancy and lactation, and the importance of hand washing.

The Mother Support Group agreed to hold another meeting on the coming Monday, after the second team conducts its sitting on Thursday this week. This continued engagement will help strengthen community-led awareness on maternal health, child nutrition, and hygiene practices. Yo’ Care South Sudan appreciates the active participation of the Mother Support Group members and acknowledges the support of the NEAR Network/Amalna, whose partnership continues to strengthen community-based health activities under this project.
