Yo’ Care South Sudan Selected for LEARN Program to Strengthen Public Health Response

Juba, South Sudan – December 13, 2024 – Yo’ Care South Sudan, a leading national healthcare organization, is proud to announce its selection to participate in Cohort 2 of the Local Engagement and Response Network (LEARN) Program.

The LEARN Program, led by the International Medical Corps, equips local and national NGOs (LNNGOs) with the skills and resources to be effective first responders in infectious disease outbreaks. By establishing and supporting representative networks, the program strengthens outbreak response across all sectors.

“Yo’ Care South Sudan is honored to be selected for the LEARN Program,” says Rose Arual, Chief Program Officer. “This program aligns perfectly with our mission to strengthen public health in South Sudan,” she continued.

Yo’ Care South Sudan’s participation in the LEARN Program will focus on three key objectives:

  • Supporting collaboration: The organization will work with critical infectious disease platforms and public health institutions to ensure a coordinated response.
  • Enhancing preparedness: Yo’ Care South Sudan will improve its ability to respond to outbreaks through multisectoral collaboration.
  • Building community resilience: The program will strengthen the capacity of community-based structures to respond effectively to outbreaks.

Yo’ Care South Sudan, established in 2009, works across multiple states in South Sudan, providing vital health, nutrition, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) services. The organization’s selection for the LEARN Program highlights its commitment to building a more resilient and prepared South Sudan.
